SectorInspector - Microscopic inspection of flat, large area, high technology products

Manufacturers of flat, large area, high technology products such as photovoltaic, LCD & plasma panels, are faced with a series of increasingly challenging tasks when performing detailed inspection of their products. Often, system-critical features such as micro circuits, interconnects, pixels, micro defects and other microscopic features, present a number of unique inspection challenges, requiring well optimised illumination, flexible magnification, as well as precision positioning control of the object itself. SectorInspector has been developed specifically to address these needs, enabling flexible, high resolution variable magnification inspection of microscopic features on large, planar samples.

MASTERGUARD PowerProtect Software

System monitoring and visualization for Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and battery systems. Long term archiving and automatic evaluation of the system status.

Services provided by Flachmann & Heggelbacher:

• Specification and implementation of the MASTERGUARD software accessories "PowerProtect Meter", "PowerProtect Graph" and "PowerProtect Monitor". Integration of same in the existing hardware and software environment.
• Firmware development. Test and integration of measurement components.
• Design and delivery of industry PC solutions for continuous operation of battery and UPS monitoring software.
• Creating user manuals, service manuals, application notes and additional diagnosis tools. Providing training and additional support.

The availability of an uninterrupted power supply is primarily determined by the state of the battery system. The MASTERGUARD software "PowerProtect Monitor" constantly records and evaluates all relevant data throughout the life cycle of the battery system. Limitations in the performance of a battery can in this way be detected early and eliminated.

Battery Measurement Module BVM. This 8-channel, cascadeable measuring system is used for the monitoring of individual blocks in stationary multiple-cell battery sites. Module control and measurement data transfer is realized using optical fiber. Flachmann & Heggelbacher reengineered the BVM firmware and created testing tools for on-site commissioning and 100% testing in production.

DEUS BlueBox - a fanless embedded server system for long-term monitoring of UPS and battery installations. Flachmann & Heggelbacher assembled hard- and software components for the BlueBox and supply individually configured systems for MASTERGUARD GmbH. Before delivery the BlueBox is configured according to the UPS and battery layout on the end customer site, thus minimizing commissioning time on site ("plug and play").

Mini-PanCam - Panorama Camera or Automatic Visual Inspection of Bore Holes and Pipes

A system for automatic visual inspection, that has been specifically developed for the recognition of surface defects in interior areas. Important applications are the visual inspection of workpieces with boreholes, e.g. brake and clutch cylinders, as well as the visual inspection of pipes

The manual inspection of bore holes is a time-consuming task and also exhausting for the human eye.

		Flachmann & Heggelbacher were asked to reengineer the existing industrial endoscopy inspection system into a compact and portable application. This required the specification of smaller mechanical components and a new mechanical construction on the smaller scale. Configuration of the electric control cabinet and the specification of interfaces were done in close collaboration with the customer.
